6. Use “Browse” to find the video on your computer.
Wait
7. When it’s finished, it will give you the code to embed it on your blog.  You can ignore this and instead use the URL for the video (see below).

Annotating a video

1. Click account
2. Select my videos
3. Each video you have posted will come up. Under each is a series of options.
4. Click “Annotations.”
5. On the Annotations page, play around with the options. You can add a note, a speech bubble, a spotlight.  You can even paste a link within the video.
6. You can use the counter to set for how long you want your annotation to appear.

Working with Audio in iMovie

1. Identify the section of audio you want to change.

2. Go to Edit (at top of screen.) Choose "Split selected audio clip at playhead." This will break your clip into pieces for more flexibility.

3. Select that clip.

4. At the top of screen, click Advanced, then "Extract Audio."  Now the audio waves will appear in the second screen of your timeline.

5. Highlight the audio and lower or raise the volume.  (More than one way to do this).
  • At the bottom of the screen is the volume or you can manipulate the audio by grabbing the audio wave and dragging up or down to raise or lower the sound.

6. Go to your right and click "Editing," then Audio FX. Graphic Equalizer lets you lower  volume.  Test all the things you can do with the clip (reverb, delay etc.)

 7.  More complicated audio work needs to be done in Garageband.

8.  You can move audio by grabbing the end of the segment.  Point cursor at end until a  cross type icon appears.  Drag it forward or backward to change the length of the clip.

9. If you run into problems with the audio, check to see if the little box at the right end of  the timeline is clicked. This turns the sound off and on.

Narration
  • Use the headset
  • Define a section (divide a clip by going to the upper toolbar and under Edit, selecting Split video clip.
  • Extract the audio (see above)
  • Lower the volume on a clip, then record your own narration onto the computer over the clip.

More iMovie Stuff

Titles
  • Click Editing (to the right), Titling
  • The title will be inserted at whatever point you have selected.  Are you at the beginning of the complete piece?  Or the beginning of a segment?
  • Unselect "Over black" in order for the words to appear across the image.
  • Click "subtitle" so that whatever you write appears at the bottom of the screen (for example, identifying someone being interviewed).  "Strip subtitle" puts it in a stripe.
Transitions
  •     Go to the Edit button on the right.
  •     Transitions can be dragged and dropped onto the Timeline.
  •     To eliminate, highlight, then top of screen, Edit, and Cut.
  •     The more dramatic the transition, the more it may be distracting (dissolve or fade out is generally less noticeable.
Create a still frame

Video FX
In general, these are tricks you would avoid.
